Lobby Days

So some of you know that I took a short trip to attend my first every Lobby Days at the Capitol in Sacramento. There were 900+ social workers at the event; 112 of us were from CSULB. Our time Saturday was full of touring Old Town and hanging out with classmates. Sunday was dedicated to a large conference with a full list of guest speakers to learn about the policies we'd be lobbying for, meeting our teams who will talk with legislators, and having fun with the CSULB group making posters for the rally and getting to know one another. Monday was dedicated to the rally and meeting with legislators. Over 700 social workers rallied at the Capitol and met with legislatives representatives. The experience was empowering and inspiring. Aside from dropping my cell phone in toilet, getting only 7 hours of sleep the entire weekend, and being left at the Capitol it was well worth it! Enjoy the pictures!
